Hysteria2 vs Reality: which one should you use?

Both are tools. Hysteria2 is faster on lossy routes; Reality TCP is the fallback when UDP is throttled.

Hysteria2 (QUIC/UDP)

Hysteria2 holds a send rate instead of backing off on loss. It is excellent on long, lossy routes, but some ISPs throttle or block UDP. When UDP passes, it is often the fastest option.

Reality (TCP)

Reality disguises a TCP connection as a real TLS site. It is harder to block and more consistent, but TCP backs off when packets are lost. Keep it as the stable fallback.

Practical rule

Try Turbo (Hysteria2) first. If it stops working or feels slow, switch to Stable (Reality TCP). Keep both installed; network conditions change by hour and carrier.
